Sport Conwy is the voluntary forum for sports organisations in Conwy. Sport Conwy is the representative body of up to 80 affiliated sports clubs and organisations. Members are welcomed from the voluntary, private and public sector, thus creating a truly holistic approach to sport in Conwy.
Sport Conwy has various schemes running, including:
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT
We can provide financial assistance of up to £250 for athletes, residing in the County Borough of Conwy, competing at a regional standard, and who are members of clubs affiliated to Sport Conwy. This is to assist with travel costs, accommodation, equipment, training clothing etc.

SPORTS INJURY GRANT
The Sports Injury Grant provides financial assistance of up to £100 towards costs associated with attending physio, podiatrist, osteopath or sports therapist, for those living in Conwy and competing in sport at a regional standard.
CONWY TALENTED ATHLETE SCHEME (PREVIOUSLY NORTH WALES GOLD CARD)
The Conwy Talented Athlete Scheme provides assistance to talented sports people who are competing at a National level in their sport.
The scheme offers free access to Conwy’s leisure facilities for training purposes.
To be eligible you must be a resident of Conwy and a current member of a National Squad of a Welsh Sport’s Governing Body.

CONWY EXCELLENCE FUND
The Conwy Excellence Award is available to sportspeople who are competing in their sport at a national level or higher and also to support excellence in education and the arts. Awards of up to £800 are available, which could be used for equipment, travel to competitions, training or accommodation costs.

SIR JOHN HENRY MORRIS JONES TRUST FUND
Applications are invited from young persons under the age of 19 years on the 31st March 2013, and resident within the former “Borough of Colwyn Bay” i.e. Colwyn Bay, Old Colwyn, Rhos on Sea, Llysfaen and Mochdre, for awards under the terms of the above Trust. The Awards will be available to enable young persons who have attained standards of excellence in the arts, sport, academic and research, science and technology and any other field of activity that they may feel would meet the requirements of the Trustees, to widen their experience and training. Application closing date annually is 31st March.
ROBIN LLYR EVANS MEMORIAL TRUST FUND
Who can apply?
The fund is available to all individuals under 25 years old who have lived for over three years in Gwynedd and/or Conwy. These individuals must have already be proficient in their chosen discipline and aspiring to compete at the highest level. The application must be supported by a trainer/referee.
What does the grant fund?
The money allocated can subsidise travelling costs, further training opportunities or anything that contributes towards improving the individual’s performance.
How much?
The amount available to successful individuals varies from £200 to £2,000 depending on the number of applications received and each individual’s needs.
