Description

The Armstrong APF 1350 is the pump foiler's wing of choice — bridging the gap between the APF 1675 and HA 1180 with a unique blend of ultra-low stall speed (the APF DNA) and the glide efficiency of Armstrong's HA range. Designed for lighter riders chasing pump foiling, riders learning to downwind, or anyone of any weight wanting the low-speed takeoff of the APF but with more speed and glide than the 1675. Single-configuration complete kit at £1,859 including front foil, 72 cm alloy mast, TC60 fuselage, Speed 180 stabiliser, hardware and an extra-large kit carry bag — ready to bolt on to any Armstrong A+ System foil board. Free UK postage.

Ultra-Low Stall Speed With The Performance To Glide At Speed

Product overview

The APF (Armstrong Pump Foil) foils have redefined pump foiling potential since their release. The new APF 1350 fills the space between the APF 1675 and HA 1180. It's ideal for lighter riders chasing pump foiling or learning to downwind, or riders of any weight seeking the low-speed takeoff of the APF but with more speed and glide than an APF 1675.

The APF 1350's design DNA is rooted in what makes the APF foils so good at low speeds — a straight leading edge and high-camber foil section — and benefits from the latest research and design that went into Armstrong's HA foils. Like the larger APFs, the 1350 foil section gives it a very low stall speed with excellent low-speed controllability and predictability. The outer portion of the foil shares its section design with the HA foils to achieve a greater average glide speed and efficiency.

Key features

Designed by Armie Armstrong & Chris Porter. Collaboratively designed by Armie Armstrong and engineer Chris Porter, the APF foils are the brainchild of their collective foil knowledge and design prowess. Chris and Armie's approach to innovating and optimising all areas of the APF's design have led to a pump foil that's truly designed from tip to tip for performance and user friendliness.

Ultra-low stall speed. The foil section gives the APF a very low stall speed with excellent low-speed controllability and predictability — letting you go further in flatwater pumping or light downwinding.

Stable yet responsive. Stable when you need it, responsive when you want it. The APF delivers pitch stability in key phases of flight and a quick response to pitch inputs for zippy acceleration when you want it.

Glide from HA DNA. The outer portion of the APF 1350 foil shares its section design with the HA foils to achieve a greater average glide speed and efficiency — speed and glide where the APF 1675 prioritises pure pumping efficiency.

Speed 180 stabiliser (standard). The APF 1350 ships with the Speed 180 stabiliser — designed for higher-speed riding and a slightly looser feel than the Pump 202 (which ships with the APF 1675/1880). The Speed 180 complements the 1350's faster character.

Honest advice from us

The APF 1350 isn't a beginner foil — for that, the S1 range is the right answer. The APF 1350 is for the rider who's already foiling and wants to pump efficiently, learn downwind, or chase the kind of long flatwater pump sessions that the APF range is famous for.

Who is this for? Lighter riders (under 80 kg) wanting pump foil performance with usable glide. Riders of any weight who already own an APF 1675 or 1880 and want a faster, longer-glide complement. Wing foilers progressing into pump-and-go / downwind crossover.

Who isn't this for? Complete beginners (S1 is the answer). Heavier riders wanting maximum pump efficiency (the APF 1675/1880 has more lift). Pure surf foilers (the HA range carves better).

The Speed 180 stabiliser that ships with this kit is the right call for the 1350's faster character — if you've used a Pump 202 on an APF 1675 you'll notice the Speed 180 feels looser and more responsive at the speeds the 1350 likes to fly.

About this kit in North Wales. Red Wharf Bay's longer flat sections and Penmaenmawr's reliable side-shore wind both suit the APF 1350's strengths. Call us on 01492 588001 for sizing advice or to discuss whether the APF 1350 or 1675/1880 is the right next step.

About Armstrong

Armstrong is a New Zealand foil company founded by Armie Armstrong, a pioneering windsurfer and watersports innovator. Armstrong's modular A+ System has set the industry standard for foil compatibility — front wings, masts, fuselages and stabilisers all interconnect across the Armstrong range, meaning riders can progress from S1 (Step 1) beginner foils through to HA (High Aspect) racing foils without replacing their mast or board fittings. Built in Thailand at Armstrong's own facility, designed in New Zealand, ridden by world-class athletes including Austin Tovey, Noah Flegel and Annie Reickert.

Môr Watersports is an authorised Armstrong dealer in North Wales — we hold stock, offer demo sessions where conditions allow, and ship across the UK with free postage.
