Known for always bringing good vibes and positivity wherever she goes, GrlSwirl team rider Val LaForge is just as well known for her radiant smile as she is for ripping a bowl barefoot. Val genuinely loves skateboarding - she’s so happy when she skates that you can see it in every photo she shares. She’s travelled the world with her board, spreading the stoke of carving, and helping women and girls deepen their connection to skateboarding and to each other.

A true inspiration, her skating is both stylish and effortless, even when she’s grinding deep and steep in a bowl that would make most of us shudder. We’re so stoked to be making her own custom model in collaboration with GrlSwirl, with a graphic by Naomi Marika, and a custom shape designed with Val to fit her riding perfectly.

The Sunflower model has been a beautiful collaboration with Val LaForge, the joyous barefoot bowl rider and GrlSwirl team rider. From the 80’s inspired side-cut shape to the new double kick mould, it’s dialed for the skate park, the pump track and anywhere else you’ll want to roll on.

Deck only — trucks, wheels, bearings and hardware are not included. Pair it with Carver C7 or CX trucks to build your own setup, or choose the complete version if you want it ready to ride.

C7 or CX?

C7 surf trucks — the truck that started surfskating. The patented swing-arm front truck adds a second pivot, so you can draw out long, smooth carves, snap turns off the tail and pump for speed without pushing, just like working a surfboard down the line. It's the most surf-like feel Carver make and the go-to for surf training on land.

CX trucks — Carver's hybrid surf/skate truck. A lightweight reverse-kingpin design with Carver's patented geometry, so it still pumps and carves like a surfskate, but feels tighter and more stable at speed, landing airs and riding fakie. Expect snappier rail-to-rail response — a great choice if you also like parks, bowls and faster riding.

About Carver

Carver was born in Venice Beach, California in 1996, when surfers Neil Carver and Greg Falk got tired of waiting for waves and built a skateboard truck that could carve, pump and snap like a surfboard. Thirty years on, Carver surfskates are ridden by surfers of every level around the world to keep their surfing sharp on flat days.
