Description
The Sooruz Fly+ is the eco-upgrade on Sooruz's introductory Fly fullsuit — same accessible price tier, but with Oysterprene Y5 panels added in the key flex zones for better stretch and a lighter feel. A 3/2mm Limestone neoprene fullsuit with a front-zip opening, designed to follow you from spring through autumn across surf, SUP, swimming, and general watersports use.
If you're getting into the water for the first time, stepping up from a budget supermarket wetsuit, or just need a reliable spare suit that won't break the bank, the Fly+ is the honest answer. Sooruz make premium wetsuits all the way up to the Guru Pro at the top end — the Fly+ is the same brand, the same eco-philosophy, just at the right price for part-time water users.
Key features
- Oysterprene Y5 panels — Sooruz's bio-based foam made using oyster-shell powder, used in the key flex zones for better stretch and a lighter feel than standard neoprene. Part of Sooruz's eco-responsible evolution.
- 3/2mm Limestone G3-flex neoprene — Sooruz's flexible, robust foam used through the rest of the suit. Limestone neoprene is the eco-alternative to oil-based neoprene, with comparable warmth and flex.
- Front-zip opening system — easier to get into than back-zip, with less water entry once you're in the water. (Also available as a back-zip — see separate listing.)
- GBS construction (Glued and Blind Stitched) — fully waterproof, with seams sewn and glued, and reinforced with patches at intersections and critical wear zones.
- Duraflex knee reinforcements — protects high-wear areas during paddling, kneeling, and contact with boards or boats.
- Water-based prints and water-based glue — part of Sooruz's eco-responsible production approach. No toxic solvents in the manufacturing process.
- Designed for multi-watersport use — surfing, SUP, swimming, kayaking, general water-based activity.

When to wear a 3/2mm
A 3/2mm wetsuit is the workhorse for UK watersports through spring, summer, and into autumn — generally fine in water temperatures from about 12°C upwards. For winter sessions (water below 10°C), step up to a 4/3mm or 5/4mm. For mid-summer in warmer waters, a 2/2mm or shorty may be enough.
About Sooruz
Sooruz is a French watersports brand founded in La Rochelle in 1999, building wetsuits and accessories designed by riders for riders. Their range covers surfing, kitesurfing, winging, wakeboarding, and other board sports. Innovation and environmental responsibility sit at the core of the brand — Sooruz has been a pioneer in developing alternatives to traditional neoprene, including Oysterprene® (made using recycled oyster shells and bio-based components), alongside recycled fabrics, water-based glues, and circular recycling initiatives for used wetsuits.
The Fly+ sits one step up from the entry-level Fly in Sooruz's range — same accessible price tier, with Oysterprene Y5 added in the key flex zones. Step up to the Divine or Fighter for more eco materials and refined construction; or up to the Guru / Guru Pro / Guru+ for Sooruz's highest-performing chest-zip wetsuits.
Honest advice from us
The Fly+ 3/2 is genuinely a good first proper wetsuit, or a reliable second suit for anyone who already owns a premium wetsuit and wants a backup. Don't expect the ultra-flexibility of a £400+ wetsuit at this price — but for surf sessions, SUP paddles, and open-water swims in spring through autumn, it does the job comfortably.
A few sizing notes: Sooruz cuts run slightly slim by UK retailer standards, especially in the chest. If you're between sizes, sizing up is usually the right call. We're happy to talk you through sizing if you're not sure — give us a ring on 01492 588001.
