The Refined Tool For Drawing Lines On Waves

Product overview

Waves are a blank canvas, and the new Surf foil board is the refined tool of choice to draw your line. This 100% surf-dedicated shape is highly responsive and easy to paddle whether you're building skills or already a ripper. The outline is tuned to be stable under the chest when popping up, yet ready to lay into next-level carves and bash whitewater at will. Optimised to give you a direct connection to the foil, the Surf is thin per volume and built stiff to respond instantly under your feet.

Key features

100% surf-dedicated shape. Not a wing board adapted for surf — designed from the outset for the prone-paddle, pop-up, carve sequence that defines surf foiling.

Stable pop-up outline. Tuned to feel stable under the chest, then release cleanly into flight.

Thin-per-volume build. The Surf packs its volume into a low-profile shape — you sit closer to the foil, with more direct feedback than a thicker wing-style board.

Stiff construction. Instant response under your feet — no flex robbing your inputs in the critical fractions of a second around take-off.

Six volumes, finely stepped. 4 L increments from 24 L to 48 L give riders precise control over the float / responsiveness trade-off.

Armstrong A+ System foil tracks. Industry-leading foil connection, modular and compatible with every Armstrong front foil.

Size guide

SF24 / SF28. Advanced lighter riders chasing maximum responsiveness, late take-offs, smaller waves.

SF32 / SF36. The intermediate sweet spot — enough float to paddle confidently, enough lightness to carve hard.

SF42 / SF48. Heavier riders, learners, or anyone wanting the easiest pop-up.

Honest advice from us

The Surf Foilboard is the right board if you're committed to surf foiling. Not the right board if you want versatility — it's purpose-built for surf, and a wing rider will be happier on the Wing FG or Wing SUP FG.

Which size? A rough weight guide for surf foiling:

  • SF24 / SF28 for advanced lighter riders under 70 kg
  • SF32 / SF36 for intermediate-advanced riders 70–85 kg — the sweet spot
  • SF42 for 85–95 kg riders or anyone wanting more pop-up confidence
  • SF48 for heavier riders, learners, or maximum-stability sessions

Most surf foilers should size down once they're confident — the Surf is at its best when you can ride a board with minimum float, maximum response. If you're new to surf foiling, start one size up from where you think you'll end up.

About this board in North Wales. Llandudno's West Shore, Penmaenmawr and Rhos Point all produce surf foil conditions on the right swell. Bigger sizes (SF42/48) work well at typical North Wales chest-high days; the smaller sizes shine on the cleaner overhead days. About Armstrong

Armstrong is a New Zealand foil company founded by Armie Armstrong, a pioneering windsurfer and watersports innovator. Armstrong's modular A+ System has set the industry standard for foil compatibility — front wings, masts, fuselages and stabilisers all interconnect across the Armstrong range, meaning riders can progress from S1 (Step 1) beginner foils through to HA (High Aspect) racing foils without replacing their mast or board fittings. Built in Thailand at Armstrong's own facility, designed in New Zealand, ridden by world-class athletes including Austin Tovey, Noah Flegel and Annie Reickert.

Môr Watersports is an authorised Armstrong dealer in North Wales — we hold stock, offer demo sessions where conditions allow, and ship across the UK with free postage.
