Description
Starboard's GO is the friendliest first paddleboard you can buy — the board that's converted more first-time paddlers to lifelong SUPers than any other shape in the Starboard line. A deep concave bottom and boxy rails deliver remarkable stability without sacrificing glide, so you can paddle fast while feeling comfortable and staying dry. Three sizes (10'8" × 31" for lighter riders, 11'2" × 32" as the all-round sweet spot, 12'0" × 34" for heavier riders and families) and three constructions: entry-level ASAP composite, Lite Tech with the carry strap and FCS accessory mount, and the bombproof Rhino for schools, clubs, and hire centres. If you're getting your first SUP, this is the one. Free UK postage.
Friendly & Easy Paddle Board
The perfect beginner paddle board for first-time paddlers looking for stability, speed, and a smooth glide. Designed with a deep concave bottom and boxy rails, it offers excellent balance and effortless tracking. The range accommodates all rider weights, with wider boards for stability and narrower ones for agility. Ideal for flat water or light wind chop.
Product features
All about easy paddling
The GO is all about making it easy for you to get into paddle boarding. You can paddle fast, while feeling comfortable and staying dry, securing your ultimate first time SUP experience.
Versatile & durable
The size ranges from length 12'0" to 10'8" accommodating all rider weights and abilities. The bigger sizes offer the most stability from the wider outline, while the shorter, narrower boards are suited for lighter riders, offering greater tracking and manoeuvrability. It's one of the best Stand Up Paddle experiences you can have on flat water or with light wind chop.
Wide tail & nose
Provides a smooth and balanced trim for efficient and comfortable paddling over distance.
Extra stability
Flat standing area and concave bottom shape offer the most comfortable balance with extra stability, perfect for yoga and fitness.
Deep center channel and flat rocker
Extends the waterline for the most efficient and long-lasting glide.
Boxy rails
Limit water flowing onto the deck to keep feet and gear dry, essential in cooler climates.
Bungee tie-down
Located on the nose for convenient gear storage, ensuring your essentials are secure and easily accessible during your paddle adventures.
FCS insert
On the nose to attach accessories like a GoPro, phone holder, compass or GPS. Available on GO Lite Tech.
2-in-1 shoulder strap
Making it effortless to carry the board to the water and allowing you to fix your paddle when you don't need it. Included with GO Lite Tech. Sold separately for GO Rhino.
Protective rail saver
Minimises paddle scratches. Available on GO Lite Tech.
Far back fin position
Improves tracking and reduces the amount of times you have to switch sides when paddling.
Sizes
12'0" × 34" / 256L
This board delivers performance with ease. It is the most stable shape in the range. The width makes it ideal for beginners and heavier riders to get used to paddling without getting wet.
11'2" × 32" / 217L
This is a truly amazing board. The glide matches that of a narrower board and its stability is tremendous due to the concave hull and boxy rails. This is the board if you are getting your first SUP board.
10'8" × 31" / 192L
This board has quicker turning and is easier to move around. A fast, nimble and effortless glide. Another jewel for riders new to SUP or those who are looking for a real upgrade.
Constructions
ASAP
Starboard's entry-level composite construction — the most accessible price point for getting a real Starboard board. Lightweight, durable enough for normal home use, and built around the same shape as the Lite Tech and Rhino siblings. Doesn't include the shoulder carry strap, FCS accessory mount, or protective rail tapes that come with Lite Tech.
Lite Tech
Light, strong, affordable
- Extra rigidity with the introduction of unidirectional stringer bands and solid with added rail/nose reinforcements.
- Australian pine on the standing area for extra impact resistance and rigidity in the most critical area.
- All inserts have added high-density foam reinforcements.
- GO board in Lite Tech construction comes with rail tapes to protect the rails, 2-in-1 shoulder carry strap included, and features FCS insert on the nose.
Rhino
As tough as it gets
- Built to last, Rhino is the most durable and hardwearing technology designed for schools and clubs.
- The entire board is wrapped in a thick, tough thermoplastic polymer ABS skin, offering an ultra strong impact resistance and durable shell.
- The full rail is wrapped with a 0.7mm thick rail band to further protect the rails against impact.
- Full EVA deck makes it forgiving and comfortable to move around.
- A tow hole in the nose makes it easy to tow the boards and makes it easy to lock multiple boards together.
Also available from Starboard but not currently stocked at Môr: ASAP Windsurf — the windsurfable and wingable version with a US centre finbox and mast track. Call us on 01492 588001 if you'd like us to source it.
For schools, clubs, and hire centres
The Rhino construction is specifically designed for high-use environments — SUP schools, paddle clubs, council leisure programmes, holiday parks, and anywhere boards take a serious beating. The full ABS thermoplastic skin and reinforced rail bands mean Rhino-construction GOs survive what would damage standard composite boards, and the tow hole in the nose makes fleet logistics genuinely practical (tow multiple boards in line, lock boards together at storage).
If you're buying multiple GOs for a school, club, or hire fleet, call us on 01492 588001 to discuss bulk pricing, fleet specification, and delivery options. We work with several North Wales SUP schools and outdoor centres and understand how schools and clubs procure differently from individual customers.
Honest advice from us
The GO is the board to buy if you're getting your first SUP — that's not a marketing line, that's genuine guidance. We could sell you a more advanced board with better glide or better surf performance, but if you're new to paddleboarding the GO will give you confidence first, performance second, and that's the right order.
Which size? 10'8" × 31" suits lighter riders (under ~75kg), younger paddlers, or anyone wanting a more compact board for easy car-top loading. 11'2" × 32" is the all-round sweet spot — if you don't know, get this one. 12'0" × 34" is for heavier riders, families wanting a board kids can also ride, and anyone prioritising rock-solid stability over manoeuvrability.
Which construction? ASAP is the entry-level composite at £1,099-£1,179. Lite Tech adds the 2-in-1 shoulder carry strap, protective rail tapes, and FCS accessory mount on the nose at the same £1,099 — typically the better-value mid-tier choice. Rhino is school/club-grade durability at £999 — surprisingly the cheapest construction, because the ABS shell is heavier and the audience is schools rather than home users. Overkill for most home users but essential if your board lives on a trailer or gets loaded by kids twenty times a week.
The honest reality: for most first-time buyers, the 11'2" × 32" / Lite Tech at £1,099 is the right answer. Call us on 01492 588001 if you want to talk through which size or construction suits your situation. Free UK postage.
