Product features
Winning shape
Experience fast yet forgiving nose riding thanks to the rocker and bottom shape. The rails are radically thinner than previous models, giving more locked and controlled carving and top turns. The nose outline with a thinner rail profile reduces the swing weight in the nose for faster rotations through turns.
Fins
A unique 5-degree fin angle enhances maneuverability while maintaining drive and control.
Thin rails
The thin rails offer greater control and responsiveness during maneuvers. In the nose, they help grip the wave face while nose riding, and in the tail, they require less effort to turn.
Slight domed deck
The volume is fuller in the middle of the board to compensate for the thin rails, while maintaining a moderately flat standing area for comfort and stability.
Rocker curve
A moderate nose kick prevents catching in turns yet carries speed when nose riding, while the tail kick unlocks high-performance surfing, delivering snappy performance when riding on the tail.
Bottom shape
A slight nose concave delivers speed riding toes on the nose, merging into a double concave midsection for rail-to-rail turns, and ending with a vee tail for snappy maneuvers. The new shape enhances flow and feels forgiving in the process.
Outline shape
The nose outline keeps enough width for control and stability when nose riding, while being forgiving to limit catching when rotating through turns. The midsection is fairly parallel for down-the-line speed, while the pulled-in tail pivots the board through maneuvers.
Surf fins
With a unique 5-degree fin angle, the fin setup offers playful performance and excellent drive on the wave. Blue Carbon comes with Prepreg Carbon fins. Limited Series comes with Armacore fins.
Sizes
10'0" × 31" / 151L
A super stable ride with added thickness and width in the standing area. Ideal for heavier riders or those wanting extra balance without compromising bite and responsiveness. A solid choice for those seeking comfort with high-performance capabilities.
10'0" × 29" / 133L
This high-performance longboard balances speed and stability. The longer length helps maintain momentum down the line, while its slightly reduced width enhances maneuverability. A great choice for those looking for fluid turns and quick response.
9'5" × 30" / 124L
A perfect blend of longboard rail performance and easy turning. The 30" width offers a stable platform for those wanting a user-friendly yet high-performance ride. This board allows for clean drawn-out turns with the ability to pivot effortlessly off the tail.
9'0" × 28" / 105L
The benchmark size for the range, delivering a pure longboard feel with added shortboard-style responsiveness. A go-to board for riders up to 85kg, offering excellent control when nose riding and impressive maneuverability from the tail.
9'0" × 26" / 92L
The performance model, designed for lighter, more advanced riders up to 75kg. The narrower width allows for fitting into steeper, more critical wave sections while generating impressive speed down the line. Ultra-responsive to foot pressure, making it a top pick for competition-level surfing.
Constructions
Blue Carbon
Lightweight, strong and durable, 4× Wood Omega stringers
- Top grade 150g Biaxial Carbon wraps the entire board, joining with an overlap on the deck and bottom to create flat stringer, increasing the total breakage strength.
- 2 skins of durable fibre glass form a sandwich around the biaxial Carbon, protecting the carbon by dampening and absorbing the impact.
- Twin Omega stringers are recessed deck and bottom to prevent total breakage strength.
- Multiple reinforcements in the standing area, nose and tail increase impact resistance.
Limited Series
Timeless look, solid performance
- Twin T-stringers made from glass fibre are positioned on the deck and bottom of the board close to the rail, providing a massive increase in the overall strength against total breakage in surf.
- An additional wide layer of 200g glass wraps the rails for higher strength against paddle impact and further reinforces the overall strength against buckling.
- The deck features reinforced biaxial glass and Australian pine, to resist heel dents and impact from the standing area.
- The nose and tail are wrapped in multiple layers of glass fiber for further strength on these impact zones.
Honest advice from us
The Longboard SUP is Starboard's most successful longboard shape on the international circuit — multiple-award-winning, multi-Bali-champion. Think of it as a refined, performance-tuned classic: it nose-rides like a longboard should but has thinner rails and a more responsive tail than older long-board SUP designs, so it actually turns. If you're choosing between this and the Longboard Surf, the Longboard SUP is the more performance / competition oriented option; the Longboard Surf is the looser, more cruisy classic.
Which size? The 9'0" × 26" is the competition-focused performance model for advanced lighter riders to 75kg. The 9'0" × 28" is the all-rounder benchmark for most riders to 85kg. The 9'5" × 30" gives more stability without losing turning ability. The 10'0" × 29" is the long-line speed option, and the 10'0" × 31" is the most stable for heavier riders or those wanting comfort with performance.
Which construction? Blue Carbon is the premium choice — 150g biaxial carbon with twin Omega stringers and Prepreg Carbon fins. Limited Series uses twin T-stringers, glass-and-Australian-pine deck, and Armacore fins, at roughly £850 less per board. For a sizing or construction conversation, call us on 01492 588001.
