Product overview
Armstrong's stiffest mast — the core performing mast for riders who want it all. The Performance Mk II Carbon Mast sets the new benchmark in the Armstrong lineup. Its reworked section shape is a stiffer evolution of the industry-leading PM Mk I. Now with a 13.8 mm thickness, chord refinement, and an even more efficient profile, bending stiffness has been boosted by 30% with torsional stiffness up 20% over the Mk I, delivering sharper feedback and rock-solid confidence at speed.
Whether you're downwinding, throwing freestyle, or laying into powered turns, this is the mast that will do it all.
Key features
13.8 mm refined section. Stiffer than the Mk I, with chord refinement and a more efficient profile.
+30% bending stiffness vs Mk I. Rock-solid confidence in powered conditions and at speed.
+20% torsional stiffness vs Mk I. Sharper feedback through the carve, more responsive rail-to-rail.
All-disciplines mast. Where the Performance-X specialises in efficiency and the Mk II Carbon is the carbon entry point, the Performance Mk II is the do-it-all choice — surf, wing, downwind, freestyle.
Armstrong A+ System compatibility. Proprietary connection system with industry-leading stiffness, durability and modularity. Pairs with every Armstrong front foil, fuselage and stabiliser.
Length guide
725 mm. Shorter length — surf foiling, prone, smaller riders, tight manoeuvrability.
795 mm. The wing-foil sweet spot. Most common all-round choice.
865 mm. Bigger swell, downwind, heavier riders — more clearance, more lift in the chop.
935 mm. Maximum-length downwind specialist.

Honest advice from us
The Performance Mk II is the mast we'd recommend for most committed Armstrong riders. Where it fits in the trilogy:
- Mk II Carbon Mast (£809–£959) — entry-tier 15.8 mm carbon. Right choice stepping up from alloy.
- Performance Mk II Carbon Mast (£1,499–£1,639) — this mast. The all-rounder. Maximum stiffness, direct response, do-it-all.
- Performance-X Carbon Mast (£2,139–£2,269) — specialist UHM 11.8 mm. Trades absolute stiffness for refined feel and minimum drag. Downwind / speed specialists only.
Which length? 795 mm if you're winging and unsure — it's the sweet spot. 865 or 935 for downwind specialists. 725 for prone surf / compact setups.

About Armstrong
Armstrong is a New Zealand foil company founded by Armie Armstrong, a pioneering windsurfer and watersports innovator. Armstrong's modular A+ System has set the industry standard for foil compatibility — front wings, masts, fuselages and stabilisers all interconnect across the Armstrong range, meaning riders can progress from S1 (Step 1) beginner foils through to HA (High Aspect) racing foils without replacing their mast or board fittings. Built in Thailand at Armstrong's own facility, designed in New Zealand, ridden by world-class athletes including Austin Tovey, Noah Flegel and Annie Reickert.
