Description

The AXIS Surge series is the definitive high-performance surf foil range, engineered specifically to bridge the gap between pure carving ability and efficient glide. Designed for riders who refuse to compromise, the Surge eliminates the typical trade-offs found in traditional surf foils, restoring a raw, "back-foot" surfing soul to your sessions. Whether you are slashing critical wave sections, linking turns in messy swell, or practicing shortboard-style snaps, the Surge provides the instant response and smooth rail-to-rail flow needed for technical wave riding.

Within the AXIS ecosystem, the Surge fits as a dedicated surf weapon, sitting between the freeride versatility of the ART V2/Spitfire and the high-aspect speed of the Fireball/Tempo. Its incredible range means it can turn knee-high mush into a playground while maintaining the top-end speed and control required for Tow Foiling and Foil Assist. With its low-end torque for easy take-offs and a locked-in feel for explosive freestyle pop, the Surge is a versatile powerhouse that excels in everything from pure prone surfing to high-wind winging and kite foiling.

Model Wingspan (mm) Area (cm²) Aspect Ratio
Surge 740 740 815 6.71
Surge 780 780 905 6.72
Surge 830 830 1024 6.73
Surge 890 890 1177 6.73
Surge 950 950 1341 6.73
Surge 1010 1010 1514 6.73

Expert Advice: The Surge is the wing that brings back the "surf" feel to foiling in UK waters. If you've found high-aspect wings a bit too "tracky" or stiff in the turns, the Surge will be a revelation. It allows you to really lean into your carves and push the tail through, just like a standard surfboard. For our typical conditions, the 890 and 950 are the standout sizes for most riders, offering enough lift to connect bumps while remaining incredibly agile on the wave face.
