Description
STRONGER. LIGHTER. LIVELIER.
Part of our 30 Years of Innovation drop: the Black Tip’s proven construction, rebuilt in carbon fibre for more rebound, less weight, and the liveliest ride this shape has ever had.
The Black Tip made its name on construction. Its composite bottom layer shrugged off moisture and fatigue while holding its rebound season after season. For our 30 Years of Innovation drop, we took that idea further and built the bottom veneer from carbon fibre, a first for Carver: stronger, lighter, and more resilient, with noticeably more energy in every pump. Thirty years of building boards, and this is the biggest performance leap yet.
The new HPR17 mould matches the material. A mellow concave runs through the centre, the front foot pocket is deeply spooned, and a lower tail angle keeps your back foot driving through the turn. Underneath it all, the exposed carbon weave recalls the shimmering skin of its namesake shark.
Deck only — trucks, wheels, bearings and hardware are not included. Pair it with Carver C7 or CX trucks to build your own setup, or choose the complete version if you want it ready to ride.

C7 or CX?
C7 surf trucks — the truck that started surfskating. The patented swing-arm front truck adds a second pivot, so you can draw out long, smooth carves, snap turns off the tail and pump for speed without pushing, just like working a surfboard down the line. It's the most surf-like feel Carver make and the go-to for surf training on land.
CX trucks — Carver's hybrid surf/skate truck. A lightweight reverse-kingpin design with Carver's patented geometry, so it still pumps and carves like a surfskate, but feels tighter and more stable at speed, landing airs and riding fakie. Expect snappier rail-to-rail response — a great choice if you also like parks, bowls and faster riding.

About Carver
Carver was born in Venice Beach, California in 1996, when surfers Neil Carver and Greg Falk got tired of waiting for waves and built a skateboard truck that could carve, pump and snap like a surfboard. Thirty years on, Carver surfskates are ridden by surfers of every level around the world to keep their surfing sharp on flat days.
