50N impact vests are the sweet spot for wing-foiling and kitesurfing — enough flotation to help you self-rescue if you tire, plus impact protection for board contact during falls. NOT a life jacket (life jackets are 100N+ and turn an unconscious person face-up). For non-swimmers or kids, a proper life jacket is needed.
