Description
Starboard's Lima is the all-round race paddle that most Starboard team riders reach for — the shape used across race, touring, and everyday paddling. The Prepreg Carbon construction is Starboard's top-tier: aerospace-grade prepreg laminate delivering the lightest weight, stiffest response, and cleanest energy transfer with every stroke. Choosing your Lima
Size (paddle length): S ≈ paddlers under 5'5", M ≈ 5'5"-5'10", L ≈ 5'10"-6'2", XL ≈ 6'2"-6'6", XXL ≈ over 6'6". As a rough guide, paddle length is your height + 20cm for touring or +15cm for race. Fixed-length paddles trim down at build; adjustable paddles are, well, adjustable.
Shaft options explained:
- 26mm / 27.5mm / 29mm — shaft diameter. Smaller diameter = smaller hands / less grip fatigue; 29mm is standard.
- Oval / Skinny Oval — oval-shaped shaft provides intuitive blade-angle reference through the stroke. Preferred by many racers.
- F30 / F35 / F40 — blade forward angle (10° = F40, most versatile all-round). F30/F35 are more forward-angled — race-focused, better catch for advanced paddlers.
- 2pc Adj — 2-piece adjustable, adds £26 for the adjustment system.

The Lima is the paddle to buy if you want the best all-round SUP paddle in the Starboard range. Most riders should pick: Size M or L, 29mm Carbon Pro F40 (or the Skinny Oval F35 if you want a proper race-feel shaft). 2pc Adjustable is worth the extra £26 if the paddle needs to fit multiple riders (family, club) or you want to fine-tune length as your technique develops.
