Starboard's innovative Take Off Air Foil is an inflatable foilboard that is compact, easy to transport, and built for high performance. Featuring Starboard's patented standing plate directly mounted to the foil base, the top plate brings you millimetres from the foil, giving you the best possible control and stiffness.

Choose from the Carbon standing plate version, saving 2 kg for best performance, or the aluminium plate, offering great value. Starboard describes it as a compact freeride wingfoil board.

Starboard's award-winning Air Foil sets the standard for innovation and performance, praised for its lightweight, stiffness, durability and travel-friendly design.

Deluxe Lite construction

The lightest inflatable construction from Starboard is available in the Air Foil range. It helps you take off earlier, fly faster and in lighter winds, as well as conserve energy with every stroke and pump.

Direct foil response

Patented Top Plate Technology, with just 1.5 cm between your feet and the foil, provides direct feedback and improved control. Combined with the solid standing plate, it enhances the flight experience on the inflatable foilboard, eliminating any wobbly sensations. The Air Foil Deluxe Lite comes with an aluminium plate. The Air Foil Carbon Deluxe Lite comes with a carbon plate, up to 2.4 kg lighter.

Carbon standing plate

Features enhanced slots for quick foil installation, an improved standing area, and a sealed EVA pad to prevent water entry. The carbon plate increases stability and aids riders in smoother, easier takeoffs.

Vee shaped nose

Inspired by the proven X-15 and Take Off ranges, the Vee nose reduces drag for early takeoffs, allowing you to get up flying faster. It is more forgiving on touchdowns, enabling quick recovery to rebound and continue flying. Available in the Take Off Air Foil Deluxe Lite Carbon.

Sealed EVA deck pad

A closed EVA pad prevents water from entering the foil plug area from the deck, keeping the board dry and minimising water weight during sessions.

Carry handle strap

Features a secure centre carry handle strap for easy handling with foil.

Curved rocker

The rocker is lifted in the nose and tail for easier takeoffs and more forgiving touchdowns.

Compact outline

The Take Off, which takes its inspiration from the Wingboard composite, has a balanced, wide and short form that makes it ideal for freestyle foiling and provides good stability prior to takeoff.

Adjustable foil track

Designed to accommodate different foil styles, offering personalised ride adjustments.

Rail edge release and EVA plug

The 3D Rail Edge enhances planing before takeoff, while the EVA plug seals the foil mount for smoother water flow. Together, they reduce drag and boost acceleration for faster, more efficient takeoffs.

Welded rail technology

The Welded Rail Technology creates a completely airtight, mechanically bonded seam without the risk of glue weakening over time. This makes Starboard inflatable boards stronger and longer lasting. All Starboard inflatable foil boards feature welded rails, both along the board and at the foil opening.

Adjustable footstraps

With an 18 cm distance between the inserts, you can have a wider footstrap span for better trim and control while foiling, since you can micro-adjust your feet position. There are 4 different positions for the footstraps at the front and 5 different positions for the straps at the back. The footstrap set is included with the Take Off Deluxe Lite Carbon only.

Leash, pump and bag

Included with the board: a coil leash, a Tiki Pump with dual nozzles for both board and wing, and a travel-friendly wheelie bag that fits a complete wing foil set.

6'7" × 29.5" / 136 L

Rider weight: up to 115 kg. Perfect for intermediate riders up to 115 kg. It balances stability and manoeuvrability, providing an excellent experience for beginner riders as well.

5'9" × 28" / 116 L

Rider weight: up to 100 kg. For riders who want a manoeuvrable board that also feels stable before flight, the 5'9" is the board of choice. The length gives enough planing to comfortably take off, yet it is still small and therefore easily manoeuvred while in motion. The 116 L volume provides enough flotation to comfortably start standing on the board.

5'4" × 27" / 81 L

Deluxe Lite (aluminium plate)

• Equipped with an aluminium standing plate.
• Slot design now supports the same hardware used with carbon foil plates.
• Quick Mounting System: track nuts lock into position on the deck side, allowing easy alignment.
• Mast-Side Bolt Access: bolts insert from the mast side, making it easier to tighten the base securely without flipping the board.
• Streamlined Setup: reduces setup time and improves reliability when mounting or adjusting your foil on water or land.

Honest advice from us

Starboard positions the Take Off Air Foil as a compact freeride wingfoil board, with a short, wide outline that gives good stability before takeoff. The main choice is between the two constructions: the Deluxe Lite Carbon (£1,175) adds the carbon standing plate, the Vee nose and the footstrap set, while the Deluxe Lite (£875) has an aluminium standing plate and is the great-value option.
